Agentdraw was approached by a leading manufacturer of professional catering equipment and were asked to design, develop and provide the tooling for an innovative serving jug with an integrated cooling tube. The following study shows the processes we guided Stewarts through to deliver this project and how our end to end service was able to reduce risk and progress processes in parallel reducing the entire project lead time.
Every design project starts with a briefing meeting where our clients set out their project goals and targets. As a design led manufacturing business we discuss the viability of those goals from every aspect including aesthetic, physical, project timing and most importantly commercial viability at this early stage. This attention to detail and theology ensures that each stage of the project delivers progress. Once a brief is agreed initial concepts are created for discussion and the project starts in earnest.
Once a direction is chosen the engineering stage starts. Our focus throughout the entire process is ensuring that our concepts can be manufactured on time and on budget, so validating the engineering of every component during development is a key element.
In this assembly every fit, tolerance material selection, interaction between components and user ergonomics was considered. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) was used to validate the strength of the parts and mould flow was used to ensure that the shapes were viable without unsightly flow lines. As you can see our renderings, produced directly from our CAD data, represent accurately and exactly what was delivered to our client.

This tooling suite was made in only 8 weeks from tooling approval. The tooling was made in a mixture of our own facilities both in the UK and in China. All our tooling is managed, serviced and guaranteed in the UK from our comprehensive tool room.
This reduced tooling project lead time was only possible beacuse of the end to end service Agentdraw uniquely offers. Our single point of responsibility offers our customers complete piece of mind and reduces their risk. In this case we were able to progress processes in parallel so reducing project lead time ensuring we met our clients demanding delivery schedule.
“Strong product design coupled with sourcing of quality cost effective tooling suppliers can be an expensive in house resource as well as a long and potentially painful process. By working with Agentdraw from initial brief through to completion of tooling I know that I will get a quality solution every time.”
